Daiji-in Temple is one of over 20 sub-temples within the Daitoku-ji temple complex. It was founded in 1585 by Anyo-in, sister of the prominent warlord Oda Nobunaga, and Kensei-in, sister of Otomo Sorin, another notable warlord of the time.

Please note that Google Maps does not provide accurate directions to Daiji-in.
We kindly ask you to search for Daitoku-ji first. Once you’re at the temple grounds, please follow the instructions below to reach Daiji-in.

1. Somon

This is the location of Daitoku-ji on Google map.

2. Daitoku-ji Map

After passing Somon, you will find the Daitoku-ji Map on your right.

3. Stone bridge

IMPORTANT!
Cross the stone bridge. You will see a stone pillar with Daiji-in's name on the right of the bridge.

4. Signage

After passing Kourin-in and Zuihou-in, you will see the signage of Restaurant IZUSEN and Daiji-in. Continue walking by follow the path.

5-1. Entrance of Daiji-in

You have arrived at the gate of Daiji-in. Turn left after you pass the gate.

5-2. Entrance of Daiji-in

As you enter through the gate, you'll notice a bamboo stick on your left. Lift the stick to proceed inside. Continue straight ahead, and you'll encounter another gate.

6. Daiji-in

Follow the path and you will find the entrance to Daiji-in.
